Port Stephens
Dream Design Scapes was engaged to design a native Australian inspired landscape design for this grand home in Corlette, that incorporates the natural slope of land and vista of the beautiful bay of Port Stephens beyond.
Natural stone boulders were salvaged from the site and utilised throughout the garden to set off the palette of native plants and give the garden a natural presence, whilst controlling and slowing down water flow on steeply sloping site.
Blackbutt platform decking leads you to the front entrance of this home and front courtyard space with sparkling views of Port Stephens, whilst surrounded by a native plant design.
A selection of native and exotic plants were chosen to give colour, texture, shape and ambience to the garden, whilst capturing the eye and grandeur of the landscape. Unique sculptures and unique plantings were utilised to enhance the garden scape and give a sense of individuality and statement to the garden. A personally created letterbox gives the garden and home a statement of street appeal, surrounded by native plants and a unique horseshoe pear sculpture has pride of place draped in ‘Old Mans Beard’ air plant.
The steeply sloping landscape was a challenging site consisting of hard local rock utilised within the design. Major retaining was needed to perimeter and rear of the garden, to maintain neighbouring sites and reduce water run off.
Blackbutt decks were utilised in the rear garden to maximise space for entertaining and relaxation, utilising plants for privacy screening and aesthetics.
